You have to pay attention if you are watching Switched at Birth. It allows people to see the positive and negative of the other side of things.Ĥ. Switched at Birth shows the assumptions well with being brought up in a rich family or a poor family. In the series, you see there are plenty of class issues. The Kennishes who are very well-off, and the Vasquezes who struggle to get by. I’m sure we can all find something in this show we can relate to.ģ. You will see family drama, deaths, and even episodes dealing with rape.

The family deals with things we do every day. I think this show shines a light on deaf culture, and it makes people want to learn sign language.Ģ. Actually, one of the main characters, Daphne, is hard of hearing in real life. Why? Well, almost half the cast are deaf actors. After I started watching this show I downloaded an ALS app on my phone. I won’t spill too much, but here’s why you should be watching, or rewatching this series.ġ. The series centers around two young women, Daphne and Bay, who were switched at birth. The plot sounds a bit cheesy, so I avoided watching the series… until recently. The show first aired in 2011, and ended in April of this year. Sometimes when you don’t think anything is on Netflix, you come across an old TV show.įor me, that happened with Switched at Birth, and you could say I’m completely addicted.
